I can agree with you on the point of asking a question and then getting mad at the answer you got. But to get slammed the way AR was IMO was a bit out of line. I know these guys have to make a living and pay for their equipment, Overhead Etc. But to just say it "ticks him when customers" "not an exact quote" say its too much money or insane is nothing but a dealer self promoting and protecting his income. Hey I know he has to stay alive but this is not a dealer forum and should be looked at as such. True AR didn`t specify what his opinion of a custom paint job was. How many time have you seen someone saying something was broken and or not working asking how to fix it without explaining what he had etc. Normally the first thing that would be asked was to give more info. NOT basically tell him he was a dumb a$$ for asking such a question. Or does he know how much a dealership costs and the upkeep, overhead, etc. and they have a right to make a profit. Which is exactly what MMT did. If you`re going to get upset over someone wanting something cheaper or not pay your employees wages or not understanding your profit line ......ok I need to get off my soapbox....its just that those that make a living selling top of the line, customizing for carts, need to remember that mostly we`re here to get things done as cheaply as possible, other wise we`d be taking our carts and having the work done. We`re learning. MMT has every right to make as much as he can. AR has the right to ask a question and not get put down in the way he was.
I don`t think AR slammed the entire community IMO. Just that things were changing in respect to the opinions being given. I was a bit surprised that he said someone had warned him about the nature of things changing here and I wonder where that came from.
By the way, a body and a custom paint job for $1000 does sound like a great price when you consider a plain new body alone will set you back around $400. That not being in a custom color.

I guess we may have to agree to disagree on this. Personally, I'm ok with that, I hope you can be as well.

I think, (and I cant speak for MMT) his response was specific to the unrealistic expectation that you could get a body and custom paint for less than $1000.00 because that is what AR specified.

AR said "I am done with the attitudes......... This is the exact thing I was told and warned about last month."

That is where I take exception as I consider myself part of the community, thus one of the attitudes.

Again, appreciate your input.

OK he wasn`t called a "dumba$$" per say. I embellished a bit. But MMTs first reply post put him down HARD. When he stated the he gets upset when retail customers think his or other dealers prices are too high. Don`t get me wrong, Roady, I think you and a lot of others, including MMT, give out great info here. I just thought MMts reply was too harsh for the simple question that was asked. And who but a dealer would say they were upset when a question of price was brought up?

How does his first response "he gets upset" put down AR "hard" as you say....I just don't see it. I'm not taking up for anyone, I just don't know why this has blown up like it has.......wait...Yes I do....comments like he was called a "Dumba$$" or was "put down hard" or blah, blah, blah. (little giggly school girl, he , he, he.) Things that WERE NEVER SAID to begin with or blown out of proportion. I don't think it was meant intentionally, just like this post. Someone will take it completely wrong.....oh well....see you in 6th period. This has become a pointless thread.

WOW - This thread is pointless now for sure. I didn't put anyone down, just put my realistic viewpoints into it, as I always will and do.

Promote my business? Absolutely - What's the purpose of being a SPONSOR?

What business do I get from this site? Very little! How much free information do I give? Quite a bit. I know that most forums are full of do - it - yourselfers, which is EXACTLY what forums are about! If my advice keeps someone from doing business with me, then that's their choice. I am not active in here (as a member OR as a sponsor) to make money. I met Roady over a year ago and liked what he was doing with Buggies Gone Wild - I wanted to be a part of it - profit or not. I feel it is my duty to voice my thoughts and ideas from a dealers prospective - Take it or Leave it...

Can we now spend our time helping someone else in another thread, or do we need to beat this dead horse back to life?

I think the whole problem boils down to GOODS+LABOR+PROFIT=PRICE. Many need to realize that buisnesses are in buisness to make money, if you don't like their price find a cheeper way to do it. That is my problem is I do it myself and done for what and way I want it. Profit is good as I do side work but now I don't have time I once did. Yes my profit is less than others but so is my overhead.

I think AR was looking for a better deal, and didn't get it here. I would not expect a deal because I am a member here but treated fairly.

My point too Fishing Dude

Mike you seem to take offense when someone says you (or another dealer)charge too much. And yet you don`t see where AR could be a little put out over your statement of you being upset over him not understanding or knowing your overhead? All he wanted to know was if there was a place to get a better deal or cheaper paint job. I have no problem you promoting your business, we all have to make a living, and truthfully I think you do a great job from what I have heard and have no doubt about your work. I really wish I could afford to have some of your work done on my carts.

I knew I was going to raise a lot of ire towards me when I first posted MY opinion. And then we get the "little school girl comments" (thats not trying to belittle someone?) and saying that some of my comments were`nt EXACTLY what was said. True noone used the word "Dumba$$" but it was implied. Now of course some will want to know where it was implied. Well those that disagree with me.
And of course those that didn`t see ARs side aren`t going to now. I`m sorry if some feel I stepped on toes too hard. Nobody`s going to agree on everything. Especially me

Roadys right ...this thread has become pointless. My opologies to any and all that I have offended in some way.

Mike, I reread the posts in this thread and in your last post, you made some very good points.

I doubt you`ll see me in sixth period....I`m in detention
