Default Thinking about a 2011 Club Car Villager LSV

Newbie here with some questions, I've got a chance to pick up a used 2011 Club Car Villager LSV from a private party for what seems like a good deal (a bit under $4k). Ive tried to find any info on the villager LSV but there really doesn't seem to be much information like there is for the Precedent.

I know if falls into the category of LSV vs golf cart but are there really any differences besides being street legal? All websites with aftermarket parts seem to only list accessories for the Precedent or DS. Will anything from these still work for the Villager? (particularly the rear seat kit since this model Villager doesn't have one currently).

Any other info anybody can give would be great, ie. reliability, known issues, etc...

Thanks!

This is the current model: http://www.clubcar.com/us/en/persona...ger-2-lsv.html
2011 version was probably similar.

I think CC used the villager name on some DS models in years past that were not LSV's. In those years it was just a dress up package (factory lights and such). I don't think the villager moniker has ever been used on the Precedent chassis.

Wait for a CC expert to confirm this.

The point is you want to make sure it is an actual LSV before you pay LSV money.

Thanks, yeah that's exactly the one i'm looking at except its a 2011. Trying to figure out if its built on the platform of one of their other models. I would need a rear seat kit asap and was pricing them out but no place online lists anything for club car besides the Precedent or DS.

So this club car seems like a good price since its through a private sale (craigslist) but I can get a refurbished 2009 EZGO RXV which has a brand new body, seats, aftermarket wheels (all make it look very sharp), for the same price through a golf cart dealer.

Wondering how the motors compare, which would have more power/speed for mostly flat land (paved streets). The Club car has their stronger 5hp DC 350amp motor while the RXV has the AC motor which seems to get good reviews for torque/speed. Would these be about the same or one have more of the advantage?

Well the Villager LSV is built on the DS chassis I think. And if it's not a DS it's probably off another model. I doubt it is a chassis unique to the LSV. They make a 4 passenger model so I'm sure rear seats and such are available but you might have to get them from CC. Might be pricey. I would call or email David at http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com. He is a site sponsor and knows his stuff. I'm sure he can tell you what is available and even give you part numbers.

As you know it has some nice stuff on it. More powerful motor and controller, 4 wheel brakes. Like the golf cart version there is probably some tweaks/mods to speed it up if thats important to you. It will have a 17digit serial no. (vin) which could be a minus depending on your situation. Where I am a LSV has to be tagged, insured and requires a licensed driver. Things that are not necessary for golf carts.

I own a RXV. For a fee (varies) the dealer can program the controller to allow 19.6 MPH on standard 18" tires. With 20" tires and NO other modifications it will run ~22 MPH. It also holds its speed much better on inclines compared to a DC motored cart. In fact it is dramatic. Going by "seat of the pants" it feels much more powerful than a standard DC cart. However, it is a completely different animal. Not good for do it yourselfers. Requires a hand held scanner to trouble shoot. Sensitive electronics. Lights, sound and stuff can be added but you need to know what your doing. Not forgiving for mistakes.

Hope this helps some.
