Default What Next "Speed" Step for my Precedent

I've got a 2006 Precedent with a 5" lift, 22x11x10 tires and speed code 4. Currently I'm getting just over 20 MPH taking 3-5 seconds to get to 13 MPB then 15-18 to get to 20.5 MPH. I have brand new Trojans with stock controller and wires. I was told to expect 25% increase in speed by just installing a Plum Quick motor with no other upgrades. Now the questions:

1: Based on only a $300 investment is this a wise choice?
2: Do you see any problems down the road by not changing out Controller or wires?
3: What have you done or would do if you were on a budget and looking for 4-5 more MPH?
4: And most importantly, how do you convince the wife that this is needed?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Change the controller and cables..... compare it to using a one speed hair dryer

Smile Re: What Next "Speed" Step for my Precedent

Thanks Scotty

I went the other way this time, getting the PQ motor with the regen disabled and having my cart already on Code 4, the reverse of what AR did. I'll see what I get first before changing out cables and/or controller for a true picture of what the motor can do on it’s own. If all goes well I should have it and installed before this Saturday.

P.S. It was a whole lot easier to let the wife know I'm only spending $300 with shipping and no core. LOL
