Ok. Very confused. Controller came back and reinstalled.
I then replaced the wire that runs from solenoid to the positive on battery pack.(my buddy made me 4 gauge wires for whole cart)(already had battery wires changed)

I then tried the jumping of the orange and brown wires again (this time I used a fuse for better connection vs a stripped wire) and sure enough it now goes in forward.

I reconnected to the switch and ran it all over the back yard with no problems.( I did not use the new switch I bought)

So, I am happy it is now working but I don't feel I fixed anything.

Was it a possible loose wire at the solenoid? (Although everything felt tight when I replaced the wire)
Did the obc reset some possible faults since it has been sitting with no power for over a week?
What's to say it won't happen again?
Looking for your thoughts.

My money would be on a better connection the second time around with the jumped wires. Glad you figured it out.

The OBC would have nothing to do with your issue. It doesn't store faults. The controller stores faults.

Thanks Dave. Just ran th cart around for a while. Did a bunch of stop and starts. Working great. I could only guess a loose wire or something.
Now it is time to customize.

Away on vacation and cart acting up again.
Decides when it wants to not to go forward. Goes in reverse all the time with no issues. The rocker switch has been replaced, new brown wire for forward replaced. Pigtail from switch to wiring harness placed. Last resort is a new controller going on cart now. Crossing my fingers. What else could it possibly be? Btw controller sent out last year and tested ok.
Frustrating!!

As Dawg pointed out months ago, I'll bet the wire from the rocker to the controller has a short in it.
