Remove shocks with heavy duty leaf springs?

This video says that you don't need shocks when you install the heavy duty leaf springs. I was just wondering if anyone has done this and if you agree that shocks are not needed? Thanks!

Oops, I put this in the wrong forum and I don't know how to move it. I have an electric Precedent. But that shouldn't effect the question.

The shocks have nothing to do with the loading or weight the cart can carry. The are to keep a vehicle from bouncing like a ball. Most golf carts could do without shocks with what ever springs you have. They just don't bounce much anyway.

It depends on your intended use. If you drive it on the streets @25Mph you need them. On the golf course or off road they're optional. As a matter of fact I just removed my heavy duty springs and went back to the stock springs today. I couldn't take any more. Found out that they only change the height by 1/4 inch. So I'm still able to use my 20.5" tires

For what it's worth, I had a local E-Z-GO guy tell me that E-Z-GO no longer uses rear shocks on new TXT cars. They quit some time around 2011 I believe I was told.

Thanks! I use it mostly on a gravel road with lots of pot holes, some off-roading through woods. And I use it to pull a small trailer with a dinghy on it. I installed a Class-III trailer hitch on the back step, but of course I don't pull anything heavy with it.

My stock leaf spring just bent after some heavy use and an 11 year old driving and hitting every pot hole in the lane!

One last thing. If you leave them on it isn't going to hurt anything it may even help. It's not like they're too short with the heavy duty spring.

Our course took delivery of 115 new Ezgo txt's and they have NO rear shocks....
