Motor Terminal Identification
Please help, the labeling on my motor terminal is gone. How do I identify A1, A2, S1, S2? I have a model 1012190 motor. I understand I can use a continuity check to determine A1/A2 pairs and S1/S2 pairs. How do I determine if a terminal is an A1 or an A2 or whether it is an S or an A
Thanks |

Re: Motor Terminal Identification
It is stamped by each terminal on the motor. You may need to get a wire brush and do some brushing around the bases of the terminals because the stampings fill up with dirt and dust over the years.

Re: Motor Terminal Identification
Thanks for the response. The cart was built in 1985. I did try the steel brush, all markings appear to be gone, any other ideas?

Re: Motor Terminal Identification
Try this. An ohm meter across S1,S2 will not show movement when you turn the motor. But because of the brushes the ohm meter across A1,A2 will jump or change a little when the motor is turned. This is because the brushes are making and breaking contact.
