Default 1994 Club Car DS Battery Tray corrosion.

I have '94 club car DS and when I was running the wiring for my new lights I noticed some corrosion on the back side of the battery tray. I was wondering if there is an easy fix for this or do they make replacement trays to just drop and bolt in.

Any help would be appreciated because I don't know too much about golf carts considering this is the first one I have had!

Thanks!

I used a solid aluminum angle and then drilled counter sunk holes and used flat-head screws that matched the counter-sinking...didn't have a riveter and this method provided a totally flat spot for the batteries to ride.

Cut out bad sections, use baking soda and water to neutralize acid on frame.

I had a similar repair to do on mine that I just bought - thread is here - http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...as-needed.html

I used some angle aluminum from your local hardware store, pop rivets, a lot of JB Weld, regular bolts...and some foam weather seal tape to keep from wearing a hole in the battery case.

Oh and about 4 cartons of baking soda and 10 gallons of water. If yours is like mine, it will bubble and fizz forever - make sure there's absolutely no fizzing from the baking soda/water solution so you know all the acid has been neutralized and off the AL.

It's holding so far! :)

Be sure to think ahead about where you are going to do the cleaning....preferred location would be in a graveled area...the baking soda mixed with acid is messy and will stain cement floors, driveways and roads.
