36v top speed
I’m sure this has been discussed before but I couldn’t find it in the search option. My question is about top speed with a stock 36v CC. I took my cart and the GPS out yesterday and clocked its speed on a soft flat dirt road at 16.9 MPH! Is this normal or do I have a fast cart? I’ll take it on a paved road soon and report back but I think it should pick-up a little.

Re: 36v top speed
My 1997 CC 36V with VGlide resistor type speed control would only do 12-13 on paved road. I went to 48V and heavy duty solenoid and 4 gauge wires, and now my top speed is 17-18 mph. the wires made no difference in the speed, but from all the posts here it was reccomended for safety reasons as the old ones which were 6 gauge had the potential of getting too warm...and I feel better now its done because its not a concern that was always in my mind when driving around.
I want a little more speed but my wallet needs to recover a bit |

Also today I'm expecting my PQ Motor and hopefully I'll be able to say I get 25+ MPH after it's installed. |

Re: 36v top speed
That was my max reading but I did watch constant and it stayed near the same, both ways on the road also. I might try tonight on a paved road to see what the Difference is.

Re: 36v top speed
Just got back from running a smooth even paved road, holding the GPS on the seat with no vibration it did 17.5 MPH. I have a good GPS that I use on my airboat and know it works great. Do you guys think it might go a little faster after I mount the new 23x10.5x12 tires? Hopefully they won’t bog it down too much, not many hills around here just a lot of sand.

Re: 36v top speed
I found when I added a 6" lift and 22" tires I gained a few mph on the top end and lost quite a bit on the hills.
