Hi Charlie, Welcome to BGW.
Some of the advice you read applies to some of the carts so we need to know which cart you are asking about first. Use the chart below to help you select your drive system. Don't see your drive system there? Maybe it's this one? see pic

For sepex drive systems the answer is yes, you will gain speed. This is primarily because the OEM controls restrict motor rpms more than the aftermarket controls. An increase in available amperage also improves performance aspects like acceleration and hill climbing.

Charlieb2,

There are several Sepex systems. Look at your chart and help us identify which one it is.

The answer is yes and no.

All Regen 1 and Regen 2 used GE motors. Early IQ used them as well. Eventually the IQ GE motor was replaced by an ADC/AMD motor.

well i got the new speed sensor and put it in.the problem i have now is at first i could only go to 15 mph and the motor would quit like i put it in neutral while driving and it would wind down like i used the brakes.after checking to see if the wires and button were in like i think they should be i took it out and it didn't cut out like before but when i slowed down and applied the brakes the motor would break and cause the cart to come to a sudden stop. is it possible i did some wrong or could it be the sensor i was sent was bad?

Sensor could be bad. Where did you buy it? A speed sensor is an item you don't need to go cheap on. There's plenty of Chinese ones out there that aren't built real well and they don't last. If you paid less than 100 dollars for it, it's probably Chinese.
