13 precedent dying suddendly
I have a 2013 precedent that while driving even fresh off a full charge will just shut off and die. We can mess with the key and or f/r switch and it will just come back to life and off we go again. Last time the reverse buzzer just started going off while it sat dead in the road. Often times when I unplug the charger the dummy battery light illuminates briefly not sure if that's normal or if that is a possible symptom of the problem. Batteries are pd plus batteries with single point watering system tha I water every week or 2 at the longest. Any suggestions or ideas of what could be going on would be great

Re: 13 precedent dying suddendly
I'll start by asking you what is your battery pack voltage? It sounds as though you have OE batteries and at 3 years old they CAN/MIGHT be going south for the winter... If you don't know your battery voltage that's where you need to start! But it could be the micro-switch in the MCOR as it can cause stop in go actions too...

Re: 13 precedent dying suddendly
Thanks for the reply I'll have to check the voltage again I've forgotten the reading got a lot of things going all at once. How do I tell what mcor it has I read through the stickies and some of the other people having issues before posting I seen there are 4 different mcor's. Also on the pd + batteries how do they mark the year of mfg?

Re: 13 precedent dying suddendly
Would that be caused from a faulty charger, batteries, or something on the cart itself? I bought it used from someone who buys them from golf courses. I don't really want to just start throwing parts at it until it's fixed but rather just fix the problem

Plug into charger and allow a full complete charge, charger will turn itself off after 16 hours and you can't hurt a thing anyway, allow batteries to rest about 8 to 12 hours and give a a reading from each battery and as whole pack... A set of reading while underway and under load such hill is better still... Start reading up on the stickies too... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...explained.html etc... |

Re: 13 precedent dying suddendly
When my batteries were doing that this is what I found. The charger would go through its normal charge cycle and shutdown. After shutdown the batteries would drop below 50.9. So when you unplugged the charger it would flash indicating not fully charged. It's explained in the chargers owners manual better if I wasn't clear. Anyway it looks like you need batteries.
