1999 CC DS 48V Surging at Mid Throttle
Last week I purchased a 48V 1999 Club Car DS with Regen from a local course that was replacing their fleet. I have not fooled with carts in almost 20 years, so I'm having to relearn a lot and remember things I thought I would never need to know again.
Everything seems to work very well mechanically and I am very happy with it as it serves my purpose well at this time. Today my son and I were driving up the street and I noticed that at mid throttle it feels like the cart is surging. At very low throttle everything is fine and at wide open throttle everything is fine. Do these use a potentiometer of sorts for the throttle that can be disassembled and cleaned or are they solid state? I've experienced something similar with old potentiometers where they would get corrosion in the areas that are not normally used and a little cleaning fixes the problem. |

The potentiometer used in the throttle tends to wear out in the area most used. You can try this: With the cart turned off fully depress and release the throttle rapidly at least 2 dozen times. This sometimes helps clear the worn spot and make work again for a while. Ultimately you will need to replace with a new unit. Be sure to buy the most current version the MCOR4 from the likes of David Hicks at http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/

I thought MCOR was not introduced until newer models than what I have.

99 is still v glide. Resistor on back of V glide is broken or bad, moveable contact is not making good contact at that spot-or stationary contacts are not making good contact at that spot.
