excessive heat?
I spoke with a guy at cart zone about my 89 cc project and explained what I wanted to do. Essentially lose the v glide and resistors and add a controller and the D395 (Beast) motor. I explained that I didn't need speed and that a lot of the places I ride are so rough that half throttle is plenty fast with just a stock cart. He said that riding at half throttle with the uprgades would cause everything to get too hot. I understand that right now the resistors get too hot doing this, but I don't understand the excessive heat with the controller and new motor. Does this mean that no matter what I do I will essentially be forced to run WOT? I am ignorant about electricity so I will be needing a third grade explanation. Thanks for the help.

Re: excessive heat?
I converted my 90 to a pot and a 300 amp controller, still running the original 36 volt motor, all it does is get run a low speeds. Have never had an over heating problem.
