Default Lose speed/ power on inclines

I just bought a used 1985 club car ds 36volt and in my few runs with it it seams to loose power/ speed when going upo a hill/ incline. What should I be looking for/ into to correct this problem. It has new fully charged batteries. If you can let me know what to check and how to do it that would be great. Cart works fine on smooth flat ground.

It is normal for electric carts to slow on inclines. A load test on the batteries will insure a cell is not dropping out under load. I once had a brand new battery with a bad cell...

I know they do slow down but not as slow as this, I can get out and walk faster than it wants to go, I had a golf cart before this one and had to get rid of it because of moving, this is beyond the regular slow down.

Make sure the cart accelerates on all 4 speed solenoid clicks, thats the easiest place to start to see if you have an issue.
A 6 MPH loss or more on a hill is common, with a 36 volt cart and a 2 horse motor

Usually when they are beyond normal slowdown the batteries are worn out or the motor is worn out or both

Figured out the charger shorted out the one battery, and the motor is working fine but I will be upgrading it if I can to more horsepower, all my selinoid ds are properly functioning. Replacing the one battery fixed the problem. Batteries were just installed so I could only get away with replacing the one not the whole bank, and replaced it with the same exact battery
