2002 DS Sepex Has just enough power to Shudder in place
Have a 2002 DS that has no power to move itself. Batteries are a mix match set but they throw up 1.5 hours on the discharger. Cables are all new and correctly wired. MCOR had a big hole in it and was only allowing 1-2 percent throttle so I put a Series 1 to Series 4 kit into it and thought i had found my issue but to no avail. Im kind of stumped to what else it could be. Any help would be appriciated

Re: 2002 DS Sepex Has just enough power to Shudder in place
Sorry for the late reply gents, year is nearing and end and its been busy.
Serial is AQ0233-181543. Im not very knowledgable with these older carts or carts in general for that matter. Could the controller cause this? Once again thank you for your help |

Re: 2002 DS Sepex Has just enough power to Shudder in place
If the battery voltage is strong like you say it is, batteries aren't the problem. If the cart is jumping and jerking (shuddering) then you most likely have a short in the motor. Typically controllers will either work or not work. Shuddering is a sign of an intermittent connection within the motor. Pull the motor off and you'll probably smell burnt electrical. Let me know what you find.

Re: 2002 DS Sepex Has just enough power to Shudder in place
Well I had a used motor here that I knew was good so I did a quick swap to no avail.
Then I had a memory come back to me of our 4 seater of a similar year and make hiving the same issue. It was the controller. Tossed a new one on it and it took off. Been working fine for the last few days. Thanks for the input. Always appreciated. |

Definitely not a common symptom of a controller failure, but I'm glad you got it figured out. Good job.

Have enough spare parts or money and you usually just toss things at them until they stick lol
