8-Volt Trojan (which one)
I read the helpful "battery" sticky. Sold on using Trojans.
After reading many of the numerous threads discussing batteries, it seems like many people opt for Trojan T-875 8-Volt batteries. What about the T-890? Since a set of six of them would weigh 36 more pounds than a set of T-875s, does that offset their extra capacity? I haven't priced them yet, so perhaps it's a matter of "better bang for the buck"? I read in one thread that a good rule of thumb average is to divide the 20 hour rating by 2 and that would be a rough calculation for time to 80% charge level. Using that as a guide, the T-875 yields 85 minutes and the T-890 yields 95 minutes. Thanks... |

My openion,
Both will last the same length of time 3-5 years With the 890 you will get 17% longer run times for only a 10% weight gain. So if you are keeping the cart and have the $$ money go for it . |

After reading any number of "battery" threads - it does seem as though many (almost all?) people are using the T-875, middle choice. I guess I just need to price them. It'll probably be a matter of getting a much better discounted price on the "more commonly used" battery. If not, I'll go for the bigger and better one. |
