Default Faster in Rev then Fwd

what would cause a cart to move faster in rev then Fwd? Only thing I can think of is switch contacts.

On a controller cart the answer depends on the specific controller model and the throttle type.

If You are referring to your 1985 resistor cart, please check the FNR wiring carefully.

The original wiring diagram has both +36v and +18v at the bottom of the FNR switch.

The +36v FNR terminal is also where the charger receptacle positive wire is connected.

Make sure that is correct or You will burn your charger.

If That is correct, just swap the 2 cables on the FNR swivel posts.

Normally carts are set up to go faster in fwd. If they go faster in rev, then it is possible that you have fwd and rev switched.
