Intermittent Power Loss When Traveling at Less Than Full Speed
We have a Club Car electric golf cart, and it's developed a problem I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas about what's going on. When you drive the cart at less than full throttle, it will do fine for a bit, then all of the sudden you lose power. It feels the same as if you turned off the power switch. If you take your foot off the petal, and press it back again, it picks right back up as if nothing ever happens. You'll drive on a ways further (distance varies), and the same thing will happen again. You can then repeat the process over. The distance you can travel varies.
There is another element that may be useful information. If you take the cart and run it wild for a few minutes, it will do fine at both full and partial throttle. We've replaced the solenoid thinking that may have been the issue, but that didn't correct the issue. I appreciate any ideas about what may be going on. |

I would guess your MCOR is failing. But for anyone to give an honest opinion need to know year end type such as series or sepex

Sounds though it is likely to be the MCOR (if you have one) Is the car post or pre 2001

Is there a way to go about testing to confirm the MCOR is going bad?

Sounds like a classic symptom of a failed MCOR. The correct replacement kit for your year model and vehicle is the AM293001 - MCOR4 conversion kit.
