The reducer should not draw much current when the 12V load is off. Much less than the normal amount that the batteries self discharge.

Good to know. I don't see where a cutoff switch is necessary in that case. I always plug the charger in after every use and I use the cart daily.

Good points all around. I have a master switch that cuts all power to my accessories on my boat from the power source. If a person was operating many accessories on a cart it would be piece of mind knowing everything is powered off.
