Oxfordlawn-
That would be great if you had the link, thanks

I hope I post these links right..here goes a try

OK heres the stuff I used:

cable : http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(zx...SKU=998003053&
lugs with 1/4 hole : http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(zx...KU=2147005914&
lugs with 5/16 hole : http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(zx...KU=2147005916&
Shrink Tubing (get a few of these) : http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(zx...aspx?SKU=34892

It took about a week for everything to show up, the lugs and shrink wrap arrived in 3 days, the cable took about a week.

Hope this helps

The links work good... can anyone find a strand count on this cable? The higher the strand count the better the conductivity

Only for you ScottyB---You have answered more than a few of my questions...strand count is 385
there are 7 clusters--55 strands per cluster = 385
This was quicker than looking it up.

385.
Nice work!
Now, is that average, above average, or excellent?

Since I really have nothing better 'til the grass starts to grow again....
I counted the strands in a piece of the old 6 gauge I took off the cart.
It has about 250, give or take 10.....eyes getting blurry near the end

This site claims 636 strands if I read the spec sheet correctly and check out the price...

Ex,

That's the one that I found also. I haven't had a chance to call and find out if they have a minimum order to get that price. I also found http://www.remybattery.com/Products/...ug__5952E.aspx for less than a buck if you purchase more than 10. I haven't found a crimper yet but I'm still looking.

There is one cart supply place on the web that sell a do it yourself kit for $100 that comes with the 5 negatives made and 40 feet of cable with ends to attach. If I'm going to have to make them myself anyway, why should I pay them to assemble the kit.

I was going to solder mine also, but soldering leads to premature corrosion and the chance of overheating the copper, leading to premature fatigue of the joint.
