help point me in the right direction
Got a call from a neighbor looking for some help with his cart. He has a 2011 precedent that was running fine but just quit. The systems as he described them to me are that the lights work fine, but the charger is not working and he is getting no click on the solenoid when he steps on the go pedal. I have not had a chance to look at the cart yet ( trying to close on a house so very busy) I am going to look at it on Wednesday evening. Any ideas of where to start, I was thinking test the obc first, could this be a mcor issue. Any assistance where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Re: help point me in the right direction
Start with battery voltage and cable connections.

Re: help point me in the right direction
that will be the very first thing that i look at mrgolf. I am still leaning toward obc because he has stated charger won't work was just going to bring my charger with me and see if it would work on his cart.

Re: help point me in the right direction
If the batteries check out, put the FNR in reverse, if You don't hear the buzzer, the OBC may be in lockout mode.
If the OBC is in lockout mode, meaning there is no +48v on the Blue wire at the OBC 6-pin connector, neither the reverse buzzer nor the roll-away brake will work. |

Re: help point me in the right direction
Thanks Sergio if I will be looking at the cart this afternoon after work, if I do find that the obc is in lockout mode how would I get it out of that condition. Should I just disconnect the battery pack and wait 5 minutes then reconnect or is there something special I would need to do.

Re: help point me in the right direction
if the OBC is in lockout mode (no reverse buzzer), it is a good idea to reset it just in case is not a permanent failure.
You need to leave the pack disconnected for more that 10 minutes. |

Re: help point me in the right direction
thanks for all the replies, I looked at the cart last night and found the problem. The Sahara desert has more water than his battery pack. Batteries were dry as a bone and beyond hope. But on the good side for him they were 5 year old batteries so at least he didn't ruin a new pack and I got him a new pack of powertrons for $630. Will be installing them tomorrow so he can have the cart ready to take the kids trick or treating.

Re: help point me in the right direction
Ok so I was wrong. I put in the new batteries tonight and thought that everything would be alright. It didn't fix the cart, even with new batts not getting a solenoid click or anything. Let me go back to the beginning checked cart the other night found that the first two batteries starting from the OBC positive to negative. Battery (1) 7.9v, batt (2) 7.9v, battery (3 thru 6) all read 1.3v and were dry as a bone. The original pack was dated J-11 so my thought was they were toast. Got the new pack today and installed tonight dated H-16. After install tried cart and still nothing. Pack reads 49.9v, plug in charger and charger is working. No solenoid click no movement. Where do I start looking now. I am at a loss, really want to get this thing going for the kids to have trick or treat time please help.
