Default led tail light voltage question

Hello all, my neighbors 2010 club car with 6, 8 volt batteries has 16 volts at the rear tail light pigtails. white wire on the left and yellow wire on the right have 16 volts when light switch is on. But both lights do not come on. Would 16 volts burn out the led lights? Power is coming off two of the 8 volt batteries no reducer. No wires going to brake peddle assembly, no brake lights.

Damage from incorrect wiring or operating this kit at a higher voltage than 12 volts will VOID ALL WARRANTIES and so for all Electric Carts a Voltage Reducer is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

most 12 volt led lights are rated 9 to 24 vdc, i have the same setup in my 03 cc for 3 yrs without a problem
cheap led lights will burnout no matter how you treat them, they're just cheap junk

Time to do some research and find a good replacement. Any recommendations?

you don't say how the current set up is; if your just looking for replacement bulbs or new lights
i have $27 in everything (plus switch and wiring)

these are my $16 head lights
the head lights mount on a simple L bracket from home depot

these are my $11 tail lights

"you don't say how the current set up is"

The current set up looks like the Madjax kit without the little tab at the bottom of tail lights.
