Default 2002 Club Car Electric slow up hills

serial # AB0230-170647
just put in new 6V batteries and the cart seems sluggish on uphill but fine on flat. i looked and there is no rpm sensor on the motor. it has a single selenoid below the forward and reverse switch. it also has resistor coils that seem to be ok.
any help?

36V, resistor coils. That's ancient technology. You're going to have to sprinkle a lot of money on that one to get it up to standards.

Sounds like typical operation, the 2 hp motor needs to slow to make enough torque to climb any hill. It will slow but it will not stop.

Its a series cart. Replacing ALL the heavy/standard 6 ga. battery cables with larger gauge (4 is good, 2 might be better) will help you climb hills a bit better. It will slow, but not quite as much. All the large dia. cables must be up-sized for you to see the benefit, not just "some" of them.

Thanks will do
i just checked the speed going uphill and without changing anything its at 8mph.
i am going to check my gas cart later and see if its much better. I need to decide which cart to keep the 2002 electric or the 89 club car gas. seems like the gas cart is easier to maintain. other than a little cold blooded on cold mornings its been great.
