Default charging batteries

My charger isn't working. Can I use a 6 volt 2amp charge to charge my batteries seperately? Or I am risking battery life? This would only be a short term patch until my charger arrives.

For chargers smart enough to taper off as batteries become fully charged, then this is a good way to equalize charge among batteries that may have gone unequal, particularly if lights draw off only two. Charging more slowly is generally easier on batteries than slamming them with 20+ Amperes.

If you have 8 or 12 volt batteries the answer is no a 6 volt charger will not work.... If you have 6 volt batteries well then yes a 6 volt charger can be used but a 2 amp charger is hardly strong enough to actually CHARGE a 6 volt battery unless it has plenty of time...

Maybe we can talk about why your charger isn't working.

2 amps isnt enough to charge unless you want to wait a week to charge all the batteries one at a time
