ClubCar Precedent
I suppose certain apologies may possibly be in order. This is a "cross-posting" from that "PlumPurple" place. If I've violated a sacred BGW rule, I proffer my most-sincere apologies.
I asked a question; PsychoBlonde set up a poll. The results demand Bubba buy a ClubCar, opposed to other makers. That is what I intend to do. NoNo responded, and here we are ... NoNo sez ... Everything about the Precedent is nice except for the battery setup. And the seats are hard as a rock. But other than that, it's a very nice cart. Congratulations on your purchase of a new Club Car!!! I have yet to make the "new" purchase (BubbaBuggy will be used/"pre-owned"). I plan to go to BigCity to check Action Battery Center's inventory tomorrow morning. All y'all guys&gals demanded I buy a ClubCar, and I've reckoned to do just that, despite all my neighbors owning EZGOs. (It's not unusual for Bubba to be "different.") NoNo, it seems your every statement lends itself to more Bubba questions; here are a couple for you. With a bit of creative battery-tray fabrication/welding, is there space under the seat for six 8V batteries, opposed to four 12-volters? Would any "electronics" need be different, other than battery cables? |

Re: ClubCar Precedent
If ya don't mind if I jump in here, IMHO, if you're gonna do some "creative welding" anyway you might wanna consider using eight 6-volt batteries instead. You'll get much more available runtime - which could be a real asset if you plan to soup it up with "purple parts", etc.
I've seen a couple of good photos of doing the 8-batt setup two ways; if memory serves, "Nate" in this forum did one of 'em. I'll be glad to email the pix if ya don't find 'em. And as you indicate, nothing else is needed in the way of electronics but extra battery cables. Just my $0.02 |

Re: ClubCar Precedent
I replied in the thread in General BS. That one will likely be deleted and the responses moved here.
Anything is possible depending on your skill level of fabrication. You are going to be better off buying a Club Car DS, which already has 6 8V batteries. You would need to be able to weld aluminum to weld new trays in the Precedent, for the frame is aluminum. All Club Cars are though. I wouldn't think any of the electronic equipment would need to be different except for the battery cables, but I'll let an electric tech answer that one. The 4 12V setup won't be around for much longer, though. Club Car has something up their sleeve. That setup wasn't intended to be permenant, because they knew it was junk. It was to get the other manufacturers doing it, so they could then release their real new technology. I can't say what it is yet, but it is going to be different from what everyone is used to. |

Re: ClubCar Precedent
I'm curious now LoL
If you do go from 4 12s to 6 8s or 8 6s nothing electrical would have to be changed. It would probably be smart to go with 8 6s. It doesn't matter what battery config you have as long as there is 48 volts in the the end. |

There ain't not no good places t' be eatin' outta' th' grub tub 'round Action Battery, but I reckon we kin figger some roadkill. Bubba rememmers a runned-over polecat on Old Jacksboro Highway. I plan t' be there much of the day, shoppin'. If'n y'all kin show yer own ugly selfs, 'twould be t' Bubba's greatest pleasurements. Y'all kin help me pick th' bestest of th' litter. |

Re: ClubCar Precedent
Congratulations on your purchase of the new Club Car, Bubba!! I guess you'll finally have your BubbaBuggy.
I noticed that you're typing Club Car as ClubCar. Just a little bit of info; it is actually two words. |
