Question New club car

Have a friend who wants to buy a NEW club car for golf only. Tried to shop around a little and was told that the club car dealer in the area where he lives gets a cut regardless of where he buys the cart. This amounts to about $500. Is this correct? I always thought that competition is good for everyone.

If he buys it out of town, from another CC dealer... the local guy gets a cut???
No offense... but I find that really hard to believe!

Maybe only if he buys it via the internet!

Don't sound right, Even if you paid cash they would get your name and address for warranty issues and would then know you were from another area?

I do jobs up to 80 miles away...
Do you think I give the local locksmith a cut???
I think... NOT!

The only way that the local CC dealer would get a cut,
is if he had to get it shipped to him, and prep it for delivery, then, do the final sale.

my 2 cents

This is not on the internet. He was told that the dealer whose territory you live in gets a cut. Apparently they know because of the warranty. This is with a new Club Car. Area code 32159 (FL) Phone 352-***-****

From what I've heard I'd avoid the dealer in lady lake also.
