48V-12V Reducer issue
Put a 48v to 12v reducer on the cart. Positive output goes to fuse block and negative to ground buss. Reads 12v so no problem there. Problem is if you read from positive to frame you get a 48v reading. I know that can't be right and can be dangerous when mounting accessories that you can't isolate from the chassis.
Is it a bad reducer? |

Re: 48V-12V Reducer issue
The voltage you are reading is coming from the cart not the reducer. All of your 12v accessories MUST have a 12v(+) and 12v(-) wire to each light or whatever 12 thing you have.
No 12v accessory should have an electrical ground connection. |

All the wires go to fuse block and buss. Problem is the aluminum sound bar. Not sure how I can isolate it from the chassis.

Started out in the mill and put a 1/2" hole in the bracket. Then I machined the isolators out of plastic. Went back together perfectly and the added bonus is no flames shot out when I hooked it up.

Re: 48V-12V Reducer issue
Is this ok.....while we are on the subject. I have the voltage reducer hooked up correctly but instead of grounding my accessories to a battery I used a grounding bad that's mounted to the chasis. Is that ok? Everything works good just need expert advise!!!!
