Disc brakes front or rear?
I have a 2011 club car precedent with a 6 in Jakes lift, rear seat kit, 22 inch tires, speed code 4. I usually have 5 people on the cart 2 adults 3 kids. I use the cart mainly at a campground but also a bit of off road I have noticed the rear brakes lock and the cart still slides, wet grass, loose dirt. I have cleaned and properly adjusted the rear drums. I am also going to do a controller upgrade this winter. I need more stopping power.
I am wondering if I should do the Ausco rear disc brake setup or the jakes front disc brake setup. I was thinking doing the Jakes front brakes, and have 4 wheels braking and if I need it then do the Ausco discs. Thoughts opinions? |

Re: Disc brakes front or rear?
My cart has front disc brakes and with the rear drum brakes it seems to stop about 50% better than it did with rear drum only...plus under certain conditions locking up just rear brakes can make the cart do a slide because of the weight in the rear of the cart...a balanced braking system is best.

Re: Disc brakes front or rear?
I would assume it would work with any braking system, it's adjustable so it doesn't over power the rear. Go to the jake's website and check it out, there are install videos and instructions.

Re: Disc brakes front or rear?
That might be a problem, I believe they are made for the jake lift kits only. For the lifted carts they send new parts to fit the brake kits.
