Default High torque series motor

Currently using bandit and need more torque. 23" tires, cargo bed, hilly terrain, 500a alltrax.

Would like 20 or more mph on flat roads but must have more pulling power. Haven't looked much but read a little on a d&d es-81? What are some of you using?

You should have plenty of torque....something else may be wrong. What gauge wire are you using?

I am using the same setup with the Alltrax 400 amp controller and 2 gauge wire and have plenty of torque and hits 27 to 30mph on a regular basis....

how old are your batteries?

I agree with dannyre, you should have plenty of torque. How old are your batteries, what is the pack voltage?

Batteries about 6 mo old. Motor during summer got pretty hot and had burning smell. Talked to plumquick and was told I needed a high torque motor that the bandit would eventually burn up.

The title says series motor, based on your signature you are running sepex. apples to oranges, unless you have another cart that has a series motor, and in that case I will remove my foot from my mouth.

Admiral A1 8 hp and 22 mph on stock tires. Plenty of torque and decent speed.

You beat me to it. I did one of these with an Alltrax SR500 and it was very impressive in both the torque and speed department.

Reasonable to ask but yes it's a series cart. I have gotten 28 mph on a slight decline but I need more torque and speed is secondary to that.

Plumquick told me there were a couple different versions of the GE motors used as bandits. A thick case and a thinner case. I ended up with a "thin can" which is more susceptible to heat. So you may have the thicker and more durable one.

Pack voltage drops from close to 52v down to 46v if under heavy load. Comes back up when load lessens.

I just don't think the bandit I have is suitable for the tire size, loads and hills I get on.

I'm running the ES-81 and love it!

22" tires hitting 22-24 mph (depending on if windshield is up and passengers) on flat pavement and pulls like crazy. Worth it IMO.
