Default upgrade to more speed/ best bang for $$

Going back down in a few weeks.
What's the best upgrade for more speed ?

Took some pics before I left :
Motor : 48 vol, 3.10 HP Special service
Controller: Curtis PMC, 1204-419, 36 - 48 Volt, 225 Amp
OBC: 19190-88 (48 VDC, 24 cell )

Though I had a series motor
XTC 400 IQ specs : "DC motor controller for Separately excited motor (not series)"

Cart Ser # A9927 ####
F N R shift lever

When I go to a 400 amp controller
, should I replace the #6 cables with #4 ?

If I don't right away, what the performance effects ?

I would upgrade your cables, most of us do then installing a new controller.

Yea
It has a shift knob by right knee to a shaft - thru body to rotating F-N-R Sw that has #6 cables ( 2 of them swing on screw posts) & 3 micro switches connected to it

Best to buy a roll of cable or buy pre-made cables ?
