Default Loss 5 to 7 MPH - 2009 Precedent

The cart: 2009 Precedent, stock motor, Madjax 600amp controller (I know), HD solenoid, Scotty B cables w/OBC stud, MCOR 4 conversion, Jake's long travel.

Prior to installing new battery cables, new MCOR 4 conversion, and long travel the cart would run somewhere between 19 and 22 MPH but now 15 MPH max. I also noticed the acceleration and speed in reverse seems higher but maybe it's just me.

Any ideas on what could have caused me to lose the speed etc? Batteries? Did I wire something incorrectly? Heavier now?

Betting you've checked the typical stuff, loose wire, low batt volts, full charge.
Possible a wire is wrong, but just a batt R&R, not much to mis-wire .

A pic might help
Can you post a pic of the batts & wires

Should be lighter with new batts (unless you went from 4-12s to 6-8s )

? Possible to lose the program with the batts disconnected while R&R'ing the batts ?
Default program may be set at "golf course" speed. (total guess)

tip from a Senior, for me taking a pic of the wiring before starting a batt job a must.
(I forget which is my left & right hand sometimes (not LOL))
(Label with masking tape too)

Ok...so my batteries appear to only be charging to 80% (49.9ish after resting). Would that cause slower speed? If so, at what point would I just need to replace the pack?

The typical answer to this problem is that you connected the small #10 charging wire to the wrong battery post. It should be on the number 1 battery with the big red wire on the positive post.

I don't believe there is a charging problem. I'm thinking the batteries may be have diminished returns due to being left uncharged for approximately 2 months while I doing my updates to the cart.

Sounds like that may be your answer.
