Default 1996 club car ds 48v differential

Need help once again and thank you in advance.

1996 Club Car DS
48 volt Series
Batteries in weak condition

Before I invest money in new batteries I want to make sure that all systems work. Motor is turning I can hear it and feel it spinning but cart does not move. accelerator does change speed of motor. Battery pack is at 46 volts.

Could bad batteries cause this ??? i would think it would try to move at least.

Happy New Years to all.

1) 46v will not move any 48v cart

2) do not apply power to a stalled motor (good way to fry a motor)

3) get the back wheels off the ground and power for a second to check motor for rotation

Try to run it on proper voltage and it will probably run. The motor is probably chattering or humming because it's not getting enough power giving you the illusion that it's rotating. I've never seen a Club Car differential or motor shaft strip out. That's an E-Z-GO problem.
