Precedent Radio-Ready Dash
I'm looking to replace my astro-turf covered particle board dash (was on the cart when I got it) with a better dash. After looking through the forums it appears that there are only 2 readily available options, aside from doing another custom job.
I found this one https://rhoxwheels.com/collections/r...peaker-cutouts I can't find a link for the other option - but it was crazy pricey. My question is - does anyone have an opinion about the one I posted above, or a word-of-mouth recommendation for another option? |

Re: Precedent Radio-Ready Dash
I have used a few of the dash your looking at, they fit well and look good. Sorry about the sideways picture.

Re: Precedent Radio-Ready Dash
I've got the same dash you are looking at, and I like it. I did see that they now make that dash that will hold one of the round gauge head units. If that would have been available when I got mine I would have went that way.

[QUOTE=geonjay;1345862]How is the sound? I've heard mixed reviews of the overhead installs.
I guess it depends on your set up. I just have a Kenwood HU and Kenwood marine speakers. I get zero radio reception at camp, so I have SiriusXM HU that goes through the input of the Kenwood. Works fine for me and I can be "heard before I'm seen" from what I'm told. |

Re: Precedent Radio-Ready Dash
Hello Gents. I'm finally ready to move forward with a new dash, radio, etc.
The cart is a 2007 IQ Precedent. I believe the lights are a Mad Jax kit. I've reached out to them asking if there's a way to verify that it's their kit and not a knock-off - after a few emails they stopped responding. I'll assume that it's theirs (the previous owner put a few MadJax stickers on the cart). I want to use the dash shown above. I'd like to include a voltage reducer. I'd like to upgrade the light kit to the deluxe version - turn signals, horn, etc. I would like the option to add some USB ports, or cigarette lighter ports so folks can charge their phones while riding. Here are the Qs. 1) Is there a reliable voltage reducer that includes switched and non-switched outputs? I know the MadJax model does, but I've read a few reviews that indicate the device has a limited life span. I'd like the radio to retain the memory presets. Is it an option to wire the memory directly to a single battery, while the main power comes from the reducer? That kind of negates the point of having a reducer, but the memory draw is supposed to be minimum. 2) With this being a Precedent, would I be better off going with an OEM style reducer? I'll have the lights, radio, and maybe a USB outlet or two - I'm not going to run TVs or anything crazy - and the installation of the OEM seems to be a bit easier. 3) If I go with Scotty's, I'm sure I'll use his bus for powering the different devices. Will the reducer and bus fit behind this dash? Will heat be an issue? Where is the best spot for installing these devices on a Precedent? |
