Default Should I Buy 2 Batteries

I was given a 48V DS that saltwater flooded. Water came over seat.
He told me the batteries were a month old.
I figured the batteries were toast. The terminal posts had electrolysised down to what was left of the nuts. 1 post was gone ,I had to replace it. The nuts were unrecognizable. I decided to test them just to see what the saltwater did to them. The water level was normal.
I was stunned every battery tested at 70% or better.
Charged and put them in my cart and they seem fine, I've only put them thru 1 charge cycle.
The thing is, only 4 of the batteries are a month old the other 2 are 4 years old.
Why in the world would you do that?
The cart has not been used in 2 weeks and the new batteries are testing around 8.4V. The 2 old one much less.
Is it worth buying 2 new batteries to replace the 4 year old batteries?

Default Re: Should I Buy 2 Batteries

That wasn't a good move by previous owner. It is not recommended to only replace 1 or 2 batteries because it usually runs down the others. If the others are only two months old and have no damage and a good charge I would go ahead and replace the two.

I purchased a cart with older batteries and I couldn't believe how slow it ran with one low voltage battery. good luck!
