Default Battery Maintenance

I know this is a strange question, but I have been thinking about this lately.

Many years ago, I was in the military, and worked in the motor pool. I think it was annually we would take the batteries out of the off-road vehicles and "recondition" them.

In this process we drained all the battery acid out, flushed the battery cases and replaced the acid.

I don't want to think about where all that old acid and sulfated lead deposits went, but in the military you do what you are told.

So my question is, has anyone tried this on a golf car pack? My guess is that the plates are just to thin for this to be a viable solution today.

Also you mixed your electrolyte. Sulfuric acid and distilled water checked it with a hydrometer. Thing is it was junk science. Just wasted time and money.

Most of the time we just washed our batteries off and said we changed the acid.

The military batteries had thinner plates, they were starting batteries.
