Default Burning up V Glides 92 CC what am I doing wrong?

I have now melted my second V Glide in one year. The first one was a cheap one I bought on online somewhere, the second was one I picked up at my local shop. It was twice the price and I merely assumed that the one they sold me might be of better quality (not saying it wasn't). When I installed I made sure to line up where it struck the pads dead center, or very close. Cart is 92 CC, with coils, I attempt do always drive at WOT the avoid over heating the coils (as I was told by numerous people)

Questions:

What am I doing wrong that they burn up so quickly?
Should I buy two and keep one handy, is this common?
Is there a better heavy duty VG I should look into?

Is it a resistor coil cart with bigger tires?
Sandy soil, boggy ground, hills, or lots of slow going will increase motor amperage draw.... Tell us more about the cart, the number of people who ride on it, and how and where it is used.

If You are planning on keeping the VGlide, You may want to do a high-speed VGlide by-pass and never have another VGlide melted at WOT.

The post below shows the diagram, but You should read the entire thread as it has information on why is important to properly align the Vglide.

There is also important information on the posts before the diagram about not using a diode and minimum half-speed voltage.

I have 12" low profile tires I just put on in December, however burned the first one up on the stock tires 8" I think? Cart is driven on flat paved roads with generally two adults. It doesn't get much use, usually driven 2.0 miles round trip to family house and back, and the occasional longer cruise through the neighborhood. As I mentioned I drive 90% at WOT. I will add this I did leave cart at sister in law's house this last week, my niece and nephew drove it around the property there, at a slower speed, they are 10. When I picked up from their house I noticed I was losing power on the top end.

Thanks I'll read up on that in a bit. Is removing the VG an option? I'm new to all of this lol! The first one I had didn't burn on at high speed if I remember it was towards the middle. It was after that I learned it's better to run wide open to keep the heat down?

Is it a solid state or resistor coil cart?

The issue with partial throttle is that as soon as the VGlide wiper pad barely touches the next pad, virtually all of the current will flow through that very small connection.

That results in heat and eventually melts/softens the wiper arm.

The VGlide can be adjusted at WOT throttle so there is complete pad to pad contact, which keeps heat to a minimum.

Installing the by-pass solenoid takes the current entirely off the VGlide and resistor board at WOT.

Converting to Solid State is the ultimate solution, You should price it as well in order to have all the information needed to make the best decision for your particular case.

Another question: I swear the last one I bought was around 100.00 full the complete assembly. Looking now online they are 250+. I called the shop in town and they one they have is 390.0!!

The guy here also says it's because of low voltage and it's my batteries most likely. They are Interstate and less than two years old, he says the Interstate batteries are junk to begin with?? Any thoughts on that?

Are the pads interchangeable? Do you think I can take pads out of a new one and just replace the burnt ones? I can buy the part online without wires and arm for like 40.00

The pads are removable - you could repair one with pieces from the other but, likely you will be back in this boat again sooner or later.
Low voltage does increase amperage flow which in turn increases unwanted heat but it is as Sergio said partial contact which stresses the terminal function most. Unfortunately, we can't know when the pads are properly aligned from the driver's seat. It's the nature of the beast.
Many people get 2 or 3 V-glides deep into these carts and realize they could have had a solid state conversion for their investment
