Accelerator switch?
Hello, new here.. i recently acquired a 1984 club car 36v, it needs some work.
When i got it not all wires were connected to wherever they belong. I think i have most of them figured out except for 2... one is a orange wire coming from the accelerator switch (its the aluminum box with 5 switches inside) from pictures on google im thinking it may go to the forward/reverse switch? The other is a yellow wire coming from the same box. Im going to attempt to add pictures so you guys can maybe get a better idea of what im talking about. Now i know the first and last solenoid are broke you can probably tell from the pictures. (They are in the mail) im just trying to figure out where the wires are supposed to go. Thanks in advance for all input. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
If Your FNR matches the image below, all of the connections are labeled.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...tch_labels.jpgThe yellow from the speed box connects to the +36v positive side. The yellow common to all of the solenoids connects to the negative side. The orange wire from the speed box goes to the reverse buzzer. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
That actually will help tremendously, looks exactly like it. Okay so I have a white wire that was coming off the last solenoid that I wad under the impression was for the buzzer.
So any idea what that white wire coming off the last solenoid is for? Thank you for that diagram |

Re: Accelerator switch?
That white wire provides the negative to the reverse buzzer when the FNR is on Reverse.
The positive side of the reverse buzzer comes off the orange wire from the speed box. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
Alright so cart ended up working just fine after those wires were identified. I was driving around for a few days until one day i got in it , turned the key put it in forward and pushed the pedal only to hear clicking.
I had a new forward/reverse switch so I decided maybe that was it. Replaced and still nothing, only clicking. Checked all switches and was manually pressing them to engage the solenoids and still, only clicking. 2 of the solenoids are brand new and the others are still working and i I can't seem to figure this one out. Jacked the rear up an tested the motor, it was fine. All connections are tight and exactly how they were when it was working so any tips or ideas of what to check would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
Did you just jack up the rear and everything worked, or did you perform a test to see if the motor itself works?

Re: Accelerator switch?
Usually that is the symptom of a failed Master solenoid, the first one from the driver side that is activated by your green wire.
The FNR can also cause that issue, but You already checked that. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
Yes I jacked the rear up and put 12 volts to it and the tire was spinning.
Could a solenoid be damaged/not working even if it clicks ? All 5 of mine click and seem to be okay. I'm going to swap around the first and last solenoid see if anything happens. |

You can move the white cable that goes to the motor so it is connected to the same solenoid stud as the copper buss bar. That will by-pass that solenoid so you can verify if it is the problem. |

Re: Accelerator switch?
Okay So I swapped first an last solenoid and it magically started working. Would lead me to believe that, that solenoid was bad after all but I still have my top speed so I'm not sure what to think. Just glad its working again.
