Default Charging Problem

I have a 48v Regen I am working on for a friend. Not too familiar with Club Car. Could not get the charger to charge the bank. Charger would hum but no output. I by passed the OBC by attaching wire from Charging Receptacle on the load side of the Fuse and attached to the Neg post on battery. Charger now has output.
This bypasses the OBC with the Charging wire but the Neg cable still runs through the OBC to the Controller. Can I assume that the OBC is bad?
Will what I have done damage anything?

The OBC has not been replaced. Don't know the year. How do I find the year?

OK mlbarnette.
Everything could be working perfect as designed.
If the Battery Pack voltage is toooo LOW it tells the charger not to charge.
This is done for a couple of different reasons ...etc.
Check Pack Voltage if really low ,in 30Volt range
Bypass OBC as you did, or charge batteries individually until they are at 51-53 Volts.
Unplug charger , remove jumper, wait 30Min. and recheck Pack Voltage.
Plug charger Back up and see what happens .

Let un Know

This is what the Maint. Service Manual says to do for confirmation,

1. If an auditable click is heard (which means solenoid closed)
2. and Transformer Hum is present
then

1. Borrow a charger and test new charger on your cart.
A. If problem is resolved then repair charger
B. If problem Persist the replace OBC

or U can work backwards and take your charger to another cart for testing
Sure sounds like the OBC.
