85 cc jerky starts
I have an 85 club car , when I try to pullaway I hear a click twice then on the third click the cart jerky and away I go. I am wondering if this may be a solenoid problem , if so how do I test them?
Thanks for your help in advance. Jerry |

Re: 85 cc jerky starts
gack the cart up , check each solenoid , they should click in sequance 1,2,3,4,5
If you have one which does not click , try tapping it . Do U have a Volt meter which Ohm reading on it to check for sorted stuck and open solenoid . |

Re: 85 cc jerky starts
2nd solenoid from the drivers side is bad. It is the slowest speed. This is a Classic 'just because it clicks , doesn't mean it is working' senario
Replace with OEM part only... |

Re: 85 cc jerky starts
I jacked it up ,all 5 click , nothing happens until #3, ohm reading on all solenoids is about 56 , after first click voltage reading on 1 is 0 but 37 volts on 2,3,4,and 5, I don't know what to do next maybe replace the first two solenoids ?

Re: 85 cc jerky starts
The solenoid closest to the drivers side is the master it clicks first and opens the pathway to feed the 4 speed sloenoids. You hear two clicks the Master and 1st speed Clicks but does not work. Check the coil attached to it for breaks if no breakes replace the solenoid.....I still think my first post is dead on

Re: 85 cc jerky starts
YEs he could but that is a lot of work. They are not easy to get off sometimes...... You can buy the set for about $100 and that is the way I like to do them cause they are all 20-25 yrs old and one goes this week and in a month another one dies?
