Trouble hooking up PB-6...wiring

I have a 98 48v CC and there are 5 wires going into the v-glide whereas the PB-6 has a black, white, and three separate terminals... What goes where?

Curtis PB-6 throttle potentiometer..

A PB-6 is the model number of the Curtis Potentiometer shown in the picture. It is a throttle indicating device. Which is what the V-glide is. The v-glide in the picture has been converted to or built with a series of resistors to work with a controller....so that is why I am confused....unless it has gone bad? To do this you would also be removing the throttle device under the floor that signals the v-glide.....also you must be sure the potentiometer you have is CC compatable (5K-0 ohms) if it is to work with your existing controller? ..... hope this helps...

The blue & green wires will connect to the "COM" & "NC" terminals of the PB-6's microswitch.. This will handle the solenoid activation circuit.. The black & white wires on the PB-6 are the throttle signal wires.. These need to be spliced to the two signal wires that connect to the controller's small spade terminals.. One of the wires will not be used, and needs to be disconnected and insulated at both ends..

I was under the impression that when upgrading to 72v it is wise to change to a pb-6. Also to have smooth acceleration under 72v was my thinking. Am I wrong??????

My v-glide is working just fine but since the cart is disassembled it is easy to reach all the wires and do any changes now rather than later. I don't have much life left in my 6 year old batteries so the change to 72v will be soon.

If the v-glide will work just as well as the pb-6 in 72v then I'll just put the v-glide back in and screw it for the pb-6.
