Battery corrosion
Hi
I just came back after being away for almost 2 months and when checking my cc Prec 2010 Trojan 875's 4 yrs old 6x8 v l noticed corrosion on only one terminal. A little wd-40 and brush cleaned it up. Question what would cause this and if there is a problem with that specific battery? Thanks Alan |

Re: Battery corrosion
Somehow some acid got on the connection. Not at all that uncommon.

Also 4 year old batteries are more than likely starting to require more frequent waterings as they tend to start gassing a bit more as they are being charged to which this vapor can find and attack one or more terminals. |

Re: Battery corrosion
The other thought is a broken seal between the top of the case and that particular post...clean around the area where the post come through the case and mix some good two-part epoxie and lay a bead around the post where the top of the battery meets it.
