Default 2008 Club Car DS Kit Car

I met David, TahoeDawgz71, today for the first time.

I had bought some parts from him in the past, but today, I picked up parts to start a new build project.

Check out the attached pictures of my new DS Kit car.

This won't be a fast build, but I will add pics and updates as I get things going.

Great to meet you Dave, let the games begin.

Nice to meet you as well sir. Enjoy your build and let me know if you need any help. I think we're good down to the last nut and bolt.

Thanks guys, I think it will be a fun project.

It won't be as easy as starting with a running cart like I did with my Precedent, but this will keep me busy for awhile.

After taking some inventory and making some decisions on power, battery configuration etc, the next decision is how far to go.

All new bushing and bearings?? Probably just see what is worn or needs replaced.

Aflyer,
I'm glad David found someone that could use the green DS rear body that I traded in on a camo one he had when I first met him. Keep us posted on your build and as you know David is an upstanding business man and he truly wants us all to have a good experience with our Club Cars and is willing to go above and beyond to help where he can. Good luck!

Hunter,
Thank you, I need to get off the computer and get the truck unloaded.

Just waiting for it to get above freezing out there, LOL.

Finally a nice day and time to work on my kit car.

If deconstruction can be considered progress I have made a little bit of progress. The frame is completely stripped and getting cleaned with the Eagle 1 etching wheel cleaner that AceKH used.

Here is a picture of the naked frame, I'll add another when I get it all cleaned.

And after lunch I got the frame cleaned up, it isn't as nice as the one AceKH has done.

What ever golf course had this cart when it was new wasn't very diligent about keeping the batteries clean, or neutralizing the acid when they filed over

But it is very solid and you can't see the frame when it is built anyway, LOL.

Here is a repeat of the bare frame, and a couple photos of the cleaned frame.

I also got the front suspension parts cleaned and prepped for a little rattle can restore, hoping for a wind free day tomorrow.
