Default DS Travels backwards in frwd or reverse

I have a 48 volt IQ Plus turf 2 (same as a DS I think). When I have it in forward it moves backwards for a short distance then stops. When I have it in reverse the buzzer works and it tries to move backwards. I am not sure why and need some help.
Also the cart shocked me so I checked the voltage to the frame. It has full battery voltage (50v) from the pos terminal of the battery bank to the frame. How can this be?
Thanks for the help. Maybe I can get it going again soon.

These are the classic symptoms of a failed controller. Have you worked on the car recently? Particularly in the motor or controller area.

Thanks for the reply. Funny you would ask about the recent work on this cart. I just put a new motor in it about 3 weeks ago. The old one burnt some windings in the armature. I thought the controller might be bad but I don't know how to verify that for sure. I would feel better about replacing it if I felt more sure of it being bad. Any suggestions?

Greenwrench, so did you figure out what your issue was? It would be good to have it to help any future reader who may have similar symptoms. Thanks
