cc frame difference?
new to cc. Planning a bare frame build up and have 4 carts to pick from behind the garage (1-36v and 3-48v). Is there a difference in a 36v coil cart to 48v controller cart frame?

Re: cc frame difference?
The DS body style and frame was nearly unchanged for 20 plus years. The frame should be the same. There was a front hub change at some point.

36 looks to be in best shape. the 48v carts all have broken welds on the floor.

The 36v can be converted to 48v since you will be rebuilding the drive system as well as the cart. |

Re: cc frame difference?
That depends upon what you want to end up when you are done and how much money you want to put into it.... What is the planned end result and how and where will it be used?

Re: cc frame difference?
well found a body on craigslist and just getting started. want to know before I sell/part out the rest of the carts what to save. I kwon 36v motor powered by 48v will go 33% faster. just don't know if that is better then using the 48v that is bolted up to it already. may down the road rework controller/motor/batteries. just don't want to get rid of anything that would set me one step ahead to start with.

Re: cc frame difference?
It just depends upon what you want the cart to do. I would keep the 36v motor if you think 3.5hp will do what you want. Like street use with added speed on a budget.

Re: cc frame difference?
jethaulin,
Looks like a great project. I love the 57 Chebby body! I am no expert, but I am also building a car from scratch. My current plan is to finish the chassis while I finalize plans for the drive line. Aflyer |

Re: cc frame difference?
Is the 57 Chevy body the one you are buying?
