2012 CC Precedent won't go forward
Hi All,
I've been reading all your posts for about a year and I first just want to say thank you for all your useful information and instructions in helping me fix up my Club Car Precedent. But it seems I've run into a wall and need some expert advice now. This is my first go around fixing up carts, so please be a little patient with me So here's the story, I purchased a 2012 Precedent last year that was beat to s###, if you get my drift. So with the help of this forum and a lot of hard work, I turned this cart to a street legal custom beauty...basically replacing/upgrading almost everything in the cart, including wheels, speed controller (Alltrax XCT300), all battery cables and connectors, etc. I had the batteries checked and they were in good shape (wheew!!). Anyways, after it was done, it drove great, everything worked perfect, except once in a while when I would press on the gas pedal to go forward, I wouldn't get any power, so I would just flip the F/R switch a couple of times, a couple quick pushes on gas and it would work just fine....so I never really paid much attention to the issue. Then about six months ago I stored the cart at a friends and it wasn't driven but a couple of times. When I picked it up, I wasn't surprised that the charger didn't work, so I charged each battery individually (6/48v) and I got the charger back up and going. Checked all batteries and they all looked good (7.2-7.8v) after individually charged. So, after it was all charged up, I took it out for a spin around the block and it all seemed to be working great. Then the next day I hopped in it, backed out of the garage, no problems, full power, and then I switched it in to forward and hit the gas and it went a foot then died...no power to gas at all. Reverse still had full power though. And it's been like that since? From reading all the posts here, I'm thinking it might be solenoid? When I replaced controller with new Alltrax, I remember reading that it might be prudent to replace the solenoid as well? I have the original one now. Does it sound like an issue with the solenoid? If so, which model is a good replacement? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, already spent way too much on all the other upgrades? Can anyone point me in the right direction or help me figure out the issue? I'd be so grateful...I'm at my wits end trying to figure it out!! Lol. I have included a couple of pics of my cart. Please let me know if you need any other info. Thank you again!! Carrie |
