Hi new to the forum and golf carts , my wife got me a 36v 1990 club car for hunting . I have lots of work a head have done the 8" lift kit and wheels tires . ANYways as im using for hunting would it be worth going 48v for more power and torque or am i fine as it is and would it handle a small winch ?????......

Re: converting to 48v
Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new cart..... how about some pics?
You didn't say what size tires you put under that lift? 36v motors do well on 48 volts. You will get more torque & speed. But it needs to be done correctly to avoid heat problems You will need a good 36 or 48 to 12v converter to run the winch properly.... |

Re: converting to 48v
A proper conversion will include a set of 8v batteries or 2 more 6v in the bagwell. A 48v charger, a potentiometer, a controller, and 4 gauge cables... Probably about $1000 to $1500 investment on average. Depending upon your resources

Re: converting to 48v
scottyb, here are some pic of my cart. the 36 volt belongs to my hunting buddy. the add on are the same but he wanted a flip down seat. he is not ready to go to 48 yet. want to get the pb-6 and controller hooked up to see how it does. Having trouble with wiring the PB and controller. I know where the motor connections to controller and bateries go. also solenoid.
