Default Brakes locking up

We have a 2006 precedent champion edition that we installed the jakes 4inch lift on and now the brakes want to lock up EVERY time we press the pedal. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Are there any topics on that so I can get some idea of what I need and how/where to install it?

Have someone drive and watch axle twist.

Your leaving me hanging would suggest that your not a fan of lifts or the jakes lift. Aren't the purpose of these forums to inform people and share ideas of how to fix things?

There are a couple of fixes. One is to get a cable extender. The other is to switch the cables right to left. David at Revoluation can help if you want the extender. He can also give you the details on switching the cables.

Read the first 2 "Similar Threads" listed below. That's why they're there.

Check the tightness of the springs U-bolts.

If U-bolts are already tight, Call David at Revolution.

Your problem is common to lifts and all the posts above are correct.

Sorry, when you hit the brakes on a lot of these lifted carts with just one U bolt on the spring the axle will twist causing the brake cables to become shorter, thus the brake grab and lock up.

This is all the more reason to flip the brake mechanism on lifted carts to ensure that even with wheel / axle rotation, they will not stretch cables.

Although it's a GREAT mod to get the brake cables "up, out of the way"...
It still won't stop axle twist with the standard 2 U bolt rear lift!

Yamahauler... an All Sports "Super Sport" 4 U bolt rear lift will fix your problem!

Here's one of the threads that tag50 was referring too...
