Re: 2003 pathway street legal
That car has a factory reducer- that needs to be checked.
One of the issues with those cars over the years is they have been butchered up by the non mechanics. Reducer is behind the battery pack. |

Re: 2003 pathway street legal
If it does have the factory 16-12v reducer, I would consider upgrading it to a 48-12v 30 amp version. More amps and it'll draw down the pack evenly...

Re: 2003 pathway street legal
On a pathway that's not the reducer they use. Its a box mounted behind the batteries on the flat plate with a plug in. 48-12 reducer.
It may be gone, I see these cars a lot and they have been all hacked up. |

Re: 2003 pathway street legal
They did use a 16v->12v reducers on those carts as well (Ref: Voltage Limiter on diagram).
They work on the "low side", meaning you feed +16v for positive and all of the accessories negatives go through the reducer in order to keep the accessories at +12v. I am attaching the wiring diagram for the 2003-2005 Pathway (referred to as IQ-P). Perhaps we can add this diagram to the wiring diagram collection as well. |
