Smile Which model do i have and can i upgrade the controller

First time poster guys, thanks for accepting me. I recently bought this very very well taken care of Club Car. From the serial number (A9252 313803), i get that it was made in 1992, but other than that, i can not find out any more info from Club Car Website on the exact model. Long story short, we live in a hilly area and the club car definitely needs a bit more torque as it crawls when it gets to an incline. I have checked all the batteries, Trojans with only a year old. All filled correctly and checked with multi meter.

I have read about putting an upgraded 400 or 500 controller. I cannot even tell where my controller is, and if it is replaceable. Top speed is fine, just want more torque without going to a 48v system.

I just need some knowledgeable people to point me in the right direction.

You have a Club Car DS 36volt with resistor coils and a V-Glide. In order to run a controller setup you will need a kit from cartsunlimited.net. This site also explains the system you have and how the upgrade will benefit you. I did it and now run 48 volts, and now can upgrade to custom motors in the future. Good luck

Looks like you got a NICE one! Even under the seat looks proper and maintained. Easier to do upgrades when you don't have to deal with corrosion, bad batts, and hinky bolts and screws. Welcome !!

Thank you! $1,600 Delivered. A little old i know, but well within our budget and maybe enough left over to buy this kit you guys were talking about.

Thanks!

You have a very nice looking Club Car DS. Obviously well cared for. If you feel a need to upgrade/more torque or whatever, you have a nice, well made aluminum frame cart with a great steering design.

These guys have already pointed you in the right direction. (See "Crash Test Dummy" above)

So I ended up buying his C54 package. $850!! Hope its worth it. We had some extra cash and even with this upgrade, the cost for my cart was well within reason. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You'll be so glad you went with a solid state conversion kit from Scotty. Easy to follow instructions and great quality. Keep us posted on your results
