Thanks to Plumquick!
Well, spoke to everyone around. Each company... no one could explain to me why their motors were as good or better than the $225 plum charges for their bandit motor. Not a single one! Each kept saying we have a 3 year warranty. Well.. if I wanted to buy three of his motors I'd have the same warranty! Lol
Ended up with it today and installed. Stock 2003 DS, series cart. 225 amp controller, half dead batteries. Very very slight downhill she did 26.9 mph. Holy crap! 21-22 on a flat. Much better than I'd ever hoped for! And still have a ton of tq to get me up hills! Very steep hills! I'm loving this! |

Re: Thanks to Plumquick!
How did you contact them? I have called them 5 times between Thursday and Friday with no luck.

Re: Thanks to Plumquick!
Nobody can explain how their motor compares because PQ does not reveal what they do to the 'bandit' motor and the results reported seem to be all over the map depending upon which motor you send in. I do know if you send in a 3hp motor you get a 3hp motor back and with shipping it's 2/3 the cost of a 8 or 10 hp new Admiral. Glad you are happy - that's what counts.

Re: Thanks to Plumquick!
The bandit is a great motor, I have a 2003 DS with a bandit, I also went with a Curtis 350 controller. I'm between 25-30 on level ground love it.

Re: Thanks to Plumquick!
I live in Stanfield nc, I'm only 45 minutes away. I will say this, the place doesn't look like much. More like a typical mans perfect playhouse. Just nice old metal buildings. Then, you walk inside!! I'll first say this, I've wound my own motors for RC before, so I may be a little more happy than I should be. But holy hell is that place nice! Motors lined up in a perfect row, down two sides of very nice wood benches, all facing the exact same direction, all perfectly painted and each with a lucky owners name printed inside.telling you guys, this place is CLEAN! Tools laid in their exact places, bolts, nuts, you name it all in their bins. Another words, extremely clean. The staff, knew what he was talking about. Not some pretty face with no info at all, and last, the place was packed with equipment to do the job right. Dyno, etc...
Know I sound like an ad for them. But come on.... a small company in the USA that does this kind of work?? How can you not support and stand by them! Happy doesn't begin to explain how I feel. Now I just need to get her lifted and 22's on and I'll be good to go! |
