Default Battery Desulfators opinions?

Just curious as to what you guy's thoughts are on these things...I don't have alot of long term experience with them and aren't sure if they are snake oil or do they actually work. I've been having people asking me and it'd be nice to know what some of your experiences have been. Thanks in advance!

For its intended use and presumed results, it is just "snake oil".

There are no scientific studies specifically done to confirm or deny claims, just unregulated comments.

A lot of times the "process" used to test a device has more impact on the outcome than the device itself.

Think of a "pill" intended to prevent dehydration in case you are lost in the desert.

If you were to follow the recommendation of "Take a pill with a full glass of water every 30 minutes", You would probably say the pill worked really well.

A lot of those de-sulfator solutions (salts, mystery formulas or scifi devices), have you perform several charge/discharge cycles back to back as part of the "process" and that most likely is what helps.

Like every "snake oil" pitch, the message is the same: hey just a few dollars and if it works, what do you have to loose....
